The Coach House ~

 –  is our flagship option in a small stable of Silver Crescent House & period apartments we offer at Devon Place on The Crescent, Galway City. We mention period house to indicate the general age and style of the buildings, but in fact we regularly review everything to ensure we’re delivering some really unique and special, warm and contemporary spaces that you’ll rarely find in other short rental options. The Coach House is exceptional – a hidden jewel of porcelain and polished stone in a most useful spot on The Crescent. The Crescent is a famous old street of Galway City and is just around the corner from Sea Road; you are always only minutes from Quay Street, the two Dominick Streets – and busy delightful town centre!

The Coach House was recently rebuilt to accommodate 6 to 8+ guests in excellent comfort AND contribute something truly extra special to Your Time in Galway City & the West of Ireland. The House is finished throughout with gorgeous cream porcelain tiling and a unique polished granite stairway and landing upstairs, with a coup de grace – Underfloor Heating throughout.

There are 3 double-bedrooms upstairs – each arranged with a California King Bed or Twin beds (as guided by our guests), and Bedroom #1 fully en-suite with relaxing free-standing Slipper Bathtub, and small delightful outdoor balcony/terrace.

Bedroom #2 has a further sofa bed sleeping 1 further adult or 2 children), and a further King-size sofa bed downstairs in the Sitting Room sleeping 2 adults, the House overall accommodates 6 to 8+ guests in superb comfort.

Bedroom #2 and Bedroom #3 upstairs are just across from the Main Bathroom which is fully fitted with double-size Walk-in power shower cabinet, wc and whb.

At ground floor level is the delightful, bright contemporary Sitting Room, furnished with an elegant antique rosewood Dining Table to gather around, plus large sofa system at other end and easy chairs to relax back into, 32” flat-screen TV, iPod docking station, full broadband Wifi Internet service, full satellite/Cable TV service, a library of interesting and evolving books, chess, puzzles & board games, and many further comforts we enjoy providing for our guests.

Just across the front hallway is a beautiful bright & separate Kitchen – fully fitted out and with with generous breakfast bar and seating area, fully equipped with all mod cons and dinner-sets, bespoke cutlery/utensils, glassware and all equipment you could need in your time here. Just off the Kitchen is a further Utility Room with full size Washing Machine and separate Dryer, plus a most-useful Walk-in Floor Shower/Bathroom & wc off this again. This Utility Room is ideal for storing sports equipment, horse-riding, running & wet weather gear – a real ‘boot room’ from old this.

The Coach House overall: 3+ bedrooms, 4 separate bathrooms/wc’s with 3 distinct hot-shower systems, accommodating 6 to 8+ guests in superb comfort.

All bedrooms have glossy porcelain or polished granite floors and underfloor heating throughout, and Bedroom #1 enjoys a full bathroom en-suite with free-standing slipper bathtub. Bedroom #2 and Bedroom #3 are just across from the Main Bathroom where there is a walk-in power shower, WC and WHB. Supporting all of this are 2 further bathrooms/Wc’s downstairs, so that overall there are 4 bathrooms/Wc’s throughout the house – two upstairs and two downstairs, with 3 hot-shower systems overall for our guests. On the ground floor is a delightful bright contemporary Kitchen cum Dining Room – fully fitted and with a beautiful Rosewood Dining Table to gather around, breakfast counter and stools, and fully equipped with dinner sets, cutlery, glassware and all the kitchen equipment you could need.
There is a Utility Room off this with full size Washing Machine and a Separate Dryer, plus a Walk-in Shower/Wet Room off this again.  Across the hall from is a beautiful bright Sitting Room/Relaxing Room with two large 3-seater sofa systems, coffee table, 32” flat-screen TV, iPod docking stations, full broadband Wifi Internet service, full satellite/Cable TV service, a library of interesting and evolving books, chess, puzzles & board games – and many further comforts we enjoy providing for our guests. If yours is a larger guest party, please look at our upstairs apartment – the Silver Teal, 2DBR +sofa beds, sleeping 4 to 6 guests in excellent comfort. And look at our beautiful Coach House option at this same location: 3DBR +2 sofa beds, sleeping 6 to 8+ guests. The Coach House is a separate & private Town House at the rear of our Main House on its own private laneway entrance, and is simply sublime for a Top-notch stay in a newly built beautiful and stylish environment with full underfloor heating throughout.

Our Location is superb!

Follow the trails of Connemara National Park, tour the great museums, watch craftspeople make hand-knit sweaters and other traditional crafts, sip a cup of tea beside a turf fire, or listen to the Irish language being spoken and sung. Galway provides glimpses of Ireland as it used to be, while also having a thriving urban centre at its heart.

My friends and I stayed here while in Dublin for St. Patrick’s Day last week(2016). Liz was extremely nice and friendly. Never ran out of things to do. If you needed to take a break the apartment was fantastic to recuperate for your next adventure. I will for sure go back to Dublin and hopefully this place will be available. You can see St. Patrick’s Cathedral from the balcony! A beautiful apartment for a beautiful city.

We spent a week in this delightful apartment while visiting Dublin. It was perfect for our family of 3. Liz welcomed us to the apartment, and provided a goodie basket of foods that got us through several meals. The apartment was clean and spacious, just as advertised. We loved coming back from sightseeing and having the spacious living room to relax in. Having the washer in the apartment helped also, since we didn’t have to pack as much. The grocery stores were very convenient. We walked, used taxis and the luaus to get around. I had a bit of a learning curve to deal with the stove, the washer and the hot water heater, but we muddled through. It is a gated facility, with keys required to enter the apartment areas, and the building itself. I would definitely recommend this property.

We were very happy with this rental. The 2 beds in each room and 2 bathrooms made it very comfortable for us (4 ladies). The location is very close to the city. We walked alot but you could use the bus or tram. Liz was a perfect greeter and we all enjoyed her. The living room was very comfortable to meet and relax at the end of the day. We liked the grocery store Lidl across the street. Communication was a bit slow during the booking process but it all worked out.

Sleeping 6 to 8 guests in superb comfort, the night rate at the Coach House varies from euro275/- per night to euro330/- per night overall – depending on time of year and if the dates requested are in and around high season demand times. There is a one-time preps, fresh linens & fresh towels fee of euro195/- per guest party/check-in, and private parking is available at a standard euro55/- per car per week, with a max capacity of 2 cars at the Coach House.

There are no hidden extras and no local taxes to worry about, that’s it! All services & utilities are included in our rental prices: electricity supply, water supplies & water heating, full underfloor heating throughout, broadband WiFi Internet, full cable / satellite TV service, and waste disposal services, and fully equipped kitchen plus utility room – all this and more, completes an uplifting and splendid home for the smart & savvy traveller!

Also included is our supply of luxurious, fine fresh bed linens, deep king duvets, sheets & bed covers, and all beds fully made up as a California Kings or Twin beds – as guided by you. Everything is thoroughly prepared prior to your arrival – we taking great pride to ensure fabulous fresh perfection for your stay! Plus a plentiful supply of fresh towels – bath sheets, bath-, hand- and face- towels, starter toiletries in the bathroom, and many other creature comforts to sink into once arrived and settled in.

We also provide our guests with a wonderful Basket of fresh Groceries to truly welcome you in and not have you worried about reaching grocery shops before closing time – with arrival time often at the end of a long day of travels. All this greatly enjoyed by our many guests to date!
